Helping Gain Mental and Physical Development

Witnessing the need and importance of mental and physical development in refugee children, BRCF played a leading role in helping general children of the camps change their physical and mental health. To imbue in children the sense of discipline, BRCF conducted game competitions. This has positively nourished the mentality of the refugee children and helped prevent their possible involvement in various anti-social activities. Ridden by a need to bring new programs and create new platforms to increasingly involve children's participation in different developmental areas in social grounds, BRCF with limited fund support, has made maximum possible number of children participate in child development programs like games other talents shows like dramas and cultural shows. All the activities were performed to accomplish the motto of 'tots' leadership for tots'. As an impact of such child oriented programs, participating children's mentality has been greatly changed for social coordination.

To help children build up their mindset and sharpen their intellectuality by employing their free time for the best use, BRCF during 2008-2009 period, established seven libraries, one in each camp. Every Sunday is the day for common children to visit library. The newspaper like The Kantipur and children magazines like Muna, Wisdom and few others are supplied for children. Besides, different children inclusive competitions like quiz, essay writing, singing, etc are also conducted more than twice in a year.
As there is a need to help children develop physically, BRCF during this period, organized games like football, cricket, badminton, skipping rope chess, ludo, video games, carom board etc. at different times . The games materials are supplied to different camp level children forums. The self-inspiring fact is that even the children with some kind of disability took part in different competitions like singing, oratory contests and other indoor games like chess, carom board, ludo etc. This proves ability in disability can possibly be emanated through inclusiveness, participation and right opportunity.
